Free art, free speech
3 events happening tonight in NYC...

Extra-Ordinary - Paintings by Seattle artist Light Habersetzer will be on display for one week only at Sapphire. Light's portraits intensify the sitter into a kind of hyper-likeness that celebrates their individuality. Opening reception tonight, Thursday, August 17th, 8-11pm at Sapphire Lounge in the LES.
Assemble for Rights NYC The NYPD and Mayor are trying to put heavy handed rules in place that will suppress free speech in our city, and the public hearing is only a week away! New Yorkers dedicated to keeping freedom of assembly and speech alive in NYC have mounted a movement to stop this travesty. Please attend the unofficial People's Forum this evening at 7pm at the St. Mark's Church
Bonus: Trashy Boat Fun - Circus the Party and Rocks Off have joined forces to celebrate the release of Valeze's new EP in style on a cruise ship. Expect the night to be filled with rock and roll, drag acts, go-go dancers and all sorts of trashy fun. The boat sets sail at 9pm tonight.
